Instead of Rogozin, former Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov was appointed to the vacant position.
Dmitry Rogozin is known for his nationalist views, in the 90s Rogozin was a member of the neo-Nazi party RNE and spoke at rallies with fascist slogans.
During Stalin’s time, Rogozin was most likely shot as an enemy of the people, but in Putin’s Russia he will probably be transferred to the post of head of a garment factory in Podolsk.
However, for Putin, the main thing in people is loyalty, not political views. Rogozin could only “fall out of favor” for 2 reasons:
- He stole too much and did not share with the people Putin needed
- Putin has doubts about his loyalty
