

Pashinyan announced the introduction of CSTO troops in Kazakhstan
Nikol Pashinyan, Armenia’s prime minister, who currently chairs the CSTO, announced the deployment of peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan at the request of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Collective CSTO peacekeeping forces are being introduced into the country for a limited period of time.
The main goal of the CSTO peacekeepers is to stabilize the situation. CSTO forces will remain in Kazakhstan until the country’s authorities ask to withdraw them;
Peacekeeping forces may include military, police and civilian personnel and forces and means allocated by the CSTO countries (Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan).
